Senior Care Unit
Lackey's Senior Care Unit, or has 10 beds. In our geri-psychiatric program, we enable adults 65 or older, with emotional or mental health care needs, to improve their daily functioning and quality of life. The Senior Care Unit provides a free assessment to determine an individual's symptoms and make recommendations for treatment. With a therapeutic community philosophy, our patients and their families participate in their care. Individuals learn to better understand themselves and to accept responsibility for their own well-being. Each day, they participate in a range of goal-oriented individual and group therapeutic activities that help older adults develop needed life skills. By practicing coping skills, learned in the program, individuals are able to make necessary changes prior to returning to their home environment.
Outpatient Behavioral Health
Our Intensive Outpatient Program is a less restrictive treatment program that provides a structured environment of less than 11 hours of therapy per week. This tailored process centers around the needs of each patient which includes psychological, medical, environ-mental, and educational needs which are assessed/monitored at each meeting. The environment is an encouraging one that is designed to use the new skills learned in group sessions and then reviewed upon the next meeting to enhance treatment and improve independence. This program is often used as a continuum of care with our Senior Care Unit.
