Lackey Memorial Hospital provides a comprehensive range of inpatient and outpatient surgical specialties, conveniently close to home. Our surgical department provides specialties that you might only expect to find in a big city or a larger hospital. Coupled with highly skilled surgical staff, you will find small-town compassion and personalized care. The surgical service department provides surgical consults and outpatient surgery. A team of qualified surgical nurses and a certified registered nurse anesthetist support our surgeons.

Radiology
Lackey Memorial Hospital’s Department of Radiology incorporates state-of-the-art imaging in a personalized and healing environment. Our hospital has continually invested in the best imaging equipment to insure that we provide cutting-edge technology. Our radiology department is covered 24/7 by licensed Radiology Technologist. Lackey Memorial Hospital is accredited by the American College of Radiology in Mammography, CT, and MRI.

Wound Care
We have a wound care clinic in OP on Mondays and have Emily Skelton, NP from Jackson that treats patients. Any appropriate tests are ordered and wounds are treated.
A non-healing wound is one that has not fully healed in six weeks. More than five million Americans suffer from non-healing wounds.
Lackey Memorial Hospital Wound Care offers comprehensive services to heal problem wounds. Non-healing wounds can take a toll on you far beyond the pain and discomfort of the wound itself. They can also cause you to lose mobility, which may lead to a decline in your general health and well-being. If you suffer from chronic wounds, please call on the staff at Lackey Memorial Hospital Wound Care. We provide care for diabetic ulcers, non-healing surgical wounds, pressure and venous ulcers, bone infections, and more.

Cardiology – Dr. Bryan Barksdale from UMC does cardiac evaluations here, follow up visits, any tests that can be performed here (EKG, labs, echocardiograms, treadmill stress tests).
Dentistry – Dr. Neely, Dr. Hollingsworth and Dr. Williams primarily perform dental surgeries on children with Medicaid.
ENT – Dr. Casano does consults, lab, CTs but cannot do hearing tests here.
GI – Dr. Underwood from GI Associates performs colonoscopies, EGDs, but NO consults.
General Surgery – Dr. Rooks, Central Surgical Associates in Jackson, has clinic here twice per month, will order any type tests that we do here and also performs surgeries such as gallbladder, hernia and any type general surgery.
Ortho – From Capital Ortho in Flowood, Dr. Brien comes once per month, Dr. Kneip twice per month, they order x-rays, MRIs, CTs, labs, and give injections for painful joints.
Ophthalmology – Dr. Toler from Jackson Eye Associates does cataract and YAG procedures, no routine eye exams
Plastic Surgery – Dr. Smith, Face and Body Center in Flowood, will do skin exams and remove lesions, moles etc. in surgery.
Podiatry – Dr. Carter of Magee Family Foot care, orders x-rays, labs, MRIs, CTs, give injections, routine diabetic foot care, and will do surgeries. Dr. Floyd also sees patients on Mondays at our Main Street Medical Clinic in Morton.
Sleep Lab – patients must first see Ruth Gaddis NP at Community Health Clinic and then they can be scheduled for sleep study.
In addition to this, we have Radiology, Respiratory, and Lab departments that patients can have tests performed by coming to our Outpatient department. These include CT, MRI, mammogram, ultrasounds, x-rays, EKGs, and any type lab. We have just added GI and Respiratory molecular panels to this. Patients can also come to Outpatient to receive blood and for IVs. We give Prolia injections for osteoporosis and other injections ordered by physicians. You call the number listed by each doctor’s name on the monthly calendar to schedule and request that appointments are made here. Call the surgery department to schedule GI or eye surgery. Call Outpatient for Wound Care. Referring doctor’s office will call RAD to schedule CT, MRI, mammo, and ultrasounds. Regular x-rays, EKGs and labs do not have to be scheduled in advance. All tests performed in OP require a physician’s order.
